Carlos Mesa - Bolivia

born 12 August 1953 in La Paz) is a politician, historian, and President of Bolivia during the period 17 October 2003 until replaced on 6 June 2005.

Mesa has been a vice president since August 6th 2002. As vice president, he is also the head of the Bolivian Congress.

Before entering the political world, Mesa is a historian and journalist in radio, TV, and newspapers. He is a member of the Academy History of Bolivia.

After didemonstrasi by society, he offers himself to the postponement of Congress on 7 March 2005, but members of Congress to choose the absolute decline the offer a day later.

On June 6, 2005, Mesa offers to back the president's office for the second time because of pressure from the demonstrators who menuduhnya subject to the interests of United States companies. This time Congress received his release and was passed on 10 June 2005.
